What is an Ipad? An ipod looks like your average ipod, which holds music and videos. But the pad is able to do many more things than just the pod. It has access to the internet, holds music, can take videos, and can even be used to read books that are downloaded. The ipad can virtually be substituted for a laptop. Right now they are about 500-600 dollars, but are well worth the money. Here is a website for more information on the Ipad:http://www.apple.com/ipad/

Promethean Interactive Boards
What is a promethean board? A promethean board is something like an overheard, a projector, a chalk board, a white board, AND a computer, all built into one product used by teachers all over the United States. Promethean boards are a way teachers are using to communicate to their students. Many schools are now purchasing the items to use in their classrooms. They look like a huge board at the front of the room, but they project information given from a computer. Students are able to come up to the board and use a pen to practice problems. They are a great resource for teachers.

I had never thought of the term one to one to pertain to children and there accessibility to computers in school. I have recently learned that schools all over the United States are beginning to adopt this idea of each child having its own computer during their k-12 education. I think this is a great idea for many reasons. Being comfortable with computers is a crucial part of society today. I think starting children early with basic skills such as typing, researching, and using the internet, would give students a huge start on their knowledge of computers and the real world.
